WHO WE ARE

Chorizos “La Abuela” started in a little Edmonton eatery called Mexico Lindo.  It was the dream of Gerardo & Ivonne Borbolla.

 

As luck would have it they went to visit a friend in Edmonton and they fell in love with Canada and soon after moved to start the family business.

 

The idea for Mexico Lindo restaurant came from giving people the opportunity to take home authentic Mexican cuisine. They started small and simple creating Mexican dishes like burrito and flautas to sell at the farmers market. They outgrew their kitchen in a 10 month period and they knew this was the start of something. They created Chorizos “La Abuela”

 

In 2013, they moved their production to Ontario to expand their market and became the only authentic Chorizo makers in whole Canada approved by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

 

What separates “La Abuela” chorizos from other brands is the ingredients used – every chorizo is alive with color, aroma, and flavor.

 

All our Chorizos are prepared with the freshest and finest ingredients, the best quality cuts of pork born, raised and slaughtered in Ontario, authentic Mexican natural spices and peppers.
